ON APRIL 6 IN SARAJEVO

Foreign journalists will promote a book on Bosnia

A few thousand copies will be printed, available by the end of year. It is our gift to BiH, Remy Ourdan, who began reporting from Sarajevo when he was 23 years old, said

Artistic director of Memory Module Nihad Kresevljakovic and Remy Ourdan, journalist from Le Monde, yesterday presented the program "SARAJEVO 2012" that will be held from April 2 to 8 in Sarajevo to mark the 20th anniversary of the war in BiH.

The main conference will be organized on April 6, when in the capital of BiH will gather foreign journalists and photographers who reported from Sarajevo during the war.

"The idea to meet in Sarajevo again, after 20 years, came to us two years ago, and we have been working on it since September of last year. Then at a Photo Festival we decided to make a book with photos of 45 photographers. It's not just a book about Sarajevo, but the whole country, staffed by my colleagues Gary Knight and Jon Jones as
well. A few thousand copies will be printed, available by the end of year. It is our gift to BiH," Remy Ourdan, who began reporting from Sarajevo when he was 23 years old, said.

During the realization of the book, Ourdan spoke with Mayor of Sarajevo Alija Behmen and his friends in Sarajevo.
"I also thought that it is completely legitimate to cooperate with Nihad Kresevljakovic, with regard to what he's been doing for keeping memories of past events alive in the past 15 years. I'm happy that the International Theater Festival MESS- Memory Module took over the organization of the conference," Ourdan said.

Since most foreign journalists come to Sarajevo on their own initiative – in fact, at their own expense – not all participants’ names are known, nor the exact number of journalists who will attend the conference.
"In the last few days some names were mentioned in the media that are actually not true. So, I wouldn't speculate that. It is interesting that reporters who were not here during the war in BiH will come to Sarajevo too, but they expressed the desire to meet Sarajevo through this conference," Ourdan said.

The foreign journalists who will present their work in the program "SARAJEVO 2012" are Ed Vulliamy, who will promote his book "The War is Dead, Long Live the War" and Richard Parry, who will screen his film "Shooting Robert King".
